Prevention Services

Provides and benefits the Community by promoting resilience and social well-being through programs and activities to build the skill and knowledge base of NHBP Members. The majority of these activities are in collaboration with existing programs but with the prevention aspect to the activities. Current prevention areas of focus include:

• Tribal youth needs:

° Positive coping and self-regulation strategies

° Healthy relationships

° Promote healthy life skills

° Support for safe, stable and equitable learning environments

• Financial capability tools

• Parenting education and family support

• Family and youth leadership development

• Family and Community feedback opportunities

• Mental health consultation with schools, pre-schools, child care providers and families

Prevention services are open to NHBP Tribal Members and descendants. Eligibility may be inclusive of other groups depending on with whom NHBP is collaborating with.


Social Services

Provides and benefits the Community by promoting social well-being and providing a safety net for the most vulnerable. Current Social Service areas include:

• Indian child welfare

• Guardianships and payees

• Vulnerable adults and Elders

• Juvenile justice

• Domestic violence

• NHBP Foster Care Recruitment and Support

• Transportation

• Problem solving support

• Linking with community resources to meet needs

• Coordination and advocacy with programs, agencies and courts

• Family strengthening and resilience

Social Services are open to NHBP Tribal Members and descendants. In some cases, immediate family members of NHBP Tribal Members may be eligible for services.
